I beliieve, but could be wrong - there is a ceiling of ISO 400 though. I don't believe the camera will go to 800 on it's own - only slide between 100-200-400. But again I could be wrong on this.

ahhh maybe thats where i got caught out. I set the camera to iso 1600 then setto auto and took a couple of pics. I then checked the data and it showed ISO 400. so maybe it was in auto but did not go over ISO 400?
