my evil friend NHL:Gi am leaning closer and closer towards the 500 now. I took the 300 for a walk today. And at 420mm i still needed more zoom. I am sure i would have needed atleast 600mm. but @420mm f4 i could get close enuff to crop enuff

here is the result..i definitely would have loved the 700mm f5.6 of the 500mm here.

But this 300mm gathered enuff attention....i made a mistake to not use the lens coat....:blah:

i can imagine what kind of impact the 500mm would have...

No - No flash on the previous image...

This one has the flash on. It easily clears the hood since the flash's head sit higher and the 500 has quite a narrow FOV (i.e. the hood casted shadow won't show):

RG's report is highly expected today. Lets see what he has found this time

The Ai-Servo in my body seems to work pretty well. took some test shots and so far no issues.

The report is out and looks like we can expect some nicely priced used mk III for sale in the coming weeks. I am sure we can pick one at 3500 or less than that in a weeks time.

1D m ark II N performs better in bright sunlight compared to 1d Mark III.

But i am happy with mine.
