Default Upgrade from....

Hey Everyone,

Nah, Im not upgrading. But I think my fiancee wants to.
It seems shes pretty into this photography stuff. And figured I would play it safe with getting a cheaper model then what I have. So she had the Coolpix 4300. She actually has taken more pictures then I have with my 10D and shes had it for a shorter time then me...

She seems to want to upgrade and wants something similar to what I have. So I was considering the Canon 300D. I dont have a problem with it, but was wondering if it will work fine with the EF lenses cause where it has an EF-S lens? Im not sure what stands for. I just hope its compatible.

Please let me know.

From what others have posted here, the 300D can use EF and EF-S lenses. I would check the reviews, like the one Steve did here:

to make sure, though.

It absolutely uses Canon EF lenses.

When I was playing with it at work this weekend, I slapped on the EF-S, a Canon 75-300, a Canon 38-80 and a Canon 38-90. They all worked just fine. I even slapped on the Sigma lens we have for Canon EFs.... it worked too..

Get the camera while you can.

It will work with all Canon EF lenses, the EF-S lenses are designed to use with the Rebel digital only, not with other Canon camera. The Rebel works very well with the 28-135mm IS lensthat I tested, for lighter weight, you may want to look at the EF 28-105mm F/3.5-4.5 USM or the 20-35mm F/3.5-4.5 USM...great camera and very reasonable price if you don't mind the part that the camera is made in Taiwan.

Cheers
