Can you give me your experience in dealing with harsh conditions when using a dslr or changing lens's. Like on a windy beach, sand blowing, water spray, whatever.
im not sure how careful i need to be.

really, damn that could be a pain.
A handy tip i read was if your taking the camera from a really cold place to in doors in the warm, put a plastic bag over it 1st to stop condensation. does it work, any other tips from hardened pros?

I've experienced the reversed, I usually stepped out to the hot tropical climate from an air conditioned room (or car), and it's kind of hard to shoot if you put your camera in a plastic bag... :?

-> Plus my camera/lens is usually bigger than most plastic bag; However this type of condensation only occurs early in the morning or late afternoon - During the day the sun has dried most of the moisture out from the air so you'll be OK!
