hi:

I have taken alot of pictures some on automatic mode and some in the portrait mode. I realize that the portrait mode is suppose to give you that soft look and fuzzy background but it seems like i can't take a really crisp shot in any other mode. Any suggestions on what mode to use to get a really sharp and crisp shot? Thanks. jcarboski

The Canon's are set to a lower sharpness by default. You can go into the camera settings and set the sharpness, or you can do it in post processing(which is better because different levels of sharpness work for different photos. You should have seen this in when you read the manual. If you haven't read the manual then you really need to. Go from front to back and do it again in a couple of weeks after you have tried things out. There is a large amount of valuable information in there.
