No Flash/Yes Flash test #2

1D Mark 3 w/ 580 EX ll & a Better Beamer

As I continue going thru the photos from yesterdays bad light and on and off rain I figured I would share, Some No & some Yes flash shots. I am thinking this might be interesting information to share cuz if you are on a trip and mother nature acts up, this might be a way to salvage a couple of keepers rather than spend your time in a motel.





When I took these there was a lite rain





No rain just very bad light

Interesting. Did the flash startle the subjects and cause them to flee? Were you using a 700mm focal length?

Gooood question, no just like the hummingbird photos I first tried it on, it does not seem to bother them at all.

Yes on the 700mm. My 500 lens with a 1.4 converter.
