I have a Canon FD 35mm 1.2 lense that's currently mounted on a old Canon FTb. I know this is a old camera. Question is, will I be able touse this lense. I do understand non of the AF stuff will work.

You would have to use some sort of FD lens to EF adapter. The mounts are different.

Even if someone made an adapter, the lens would not focus to infinity.

The registration distance (distance from mount to film/sensor plane) is 42mm on the old FL/FD lens mountsand 44mm on the EF (EOS). The FL/FD mounts have a breech/lock system, which adds about 5mm to the mount depth. This means that with an adapter from FL/FD (if you could find one), the total distance will around perhaps 46-48mm, which is much too large to expect any lens to focus to infinity.

Because of these reasons, any adapters are not just an adapter ring, but include a glass element, akin to a low power teleconverter. And of course, this glass element will degrade the lens perfomance.
