When i'm trying to open "EOS Utility"/Accessories/ODS Administrator, then on screen displayed "A communication error occurred", but USB communication is OK, because it is possible to download pictures from body to PC. How to write Author data to dslr body Canon EOS 50d by sof "EOS Utility"? Where is problem?

You may want to make sure you're using the latest firmware for your model, and have the latest updates to Canon's EOS utility software installed.

If you select your Operating System (XP, Vista, etc.) from the drop down list on this page, you'll see available software updates:
