Default EOS 300D error message

Camera returned several "error99", it was not battery (changed to fresh fully sharged), it was not CF card, changed that one too. All functions seemed OK until I tried to take picture - result was always "error99".
Temperature 5 degC and very humid, almost rain.
My guess was condens or something on the sensor, or just the humidity and rather cold temperature in general.
After having had the camera indoors for a couple of hours, there were no error messages any longer and everything seemed back to normal.
Does Anyone out there have any similar experiences?

Default error 99 msg

I saw several posts off site that referred to error 99 being an incompatable lens on the body. It might be a direction to follow. hope this helps. wyndham

Tried both my original Canon lenses, the one which comes with the camera, EFS18-55 and another 75-300USM.

Default check lens electrical contacts

I had this problem when I first got the camera. Someone told me that the connections on the lens were dirty. I wiped them off with a lens cloth and the error never came back.
