Default Just bought my first (Canon XSi) SLR camera

Hello. Newbie here.

I bought my first SLR camera (Canon XSi) which came with an EF-S 18-55 lens (which I understand is very good). I also purchased a beginner flash (Canon 220 EX speedlite).

I need your advice on 2 things:

1) Where do you recommend for me to go for lessons on how to use an DSLR properly.
2) I usually will shoot scenes (I travel alot for business globally) and people with my camera (no need for sporting shots). What should I target to purchase as my 2nd lens?

Your local community college may have photo courses. If you live in a big city then the local college may be a renowned art school. :-)

Your profile doesn't say where you live, but for example for people who live in or near London....

And I'm sure many other large cities have equally nice courses.

I bought a Canon EOS 100D (Rebel XS) with 18-55 Kit lens (not IS) 2 weeks back. Last week I bought a 55-250 zoom lens (with image stabilizer). Good combination, gives a lot of flex. My next buy will be a 50 mm f/1.8 prime. That would be my equipment for some time. See my beginner's attempts in the link http://flickr.com/photos/pkbhat_20032003. Wish you a good time with yuor DSLR.

You've got some nice photos there. Keep shooting, I know I have really enjoyed it.
