Default Clock Battery on the 500D?

I've looked at the usual place (inside the main battery compartment) but could not find a clock/date battery on the 500D.

Does anyone know if such a battery exists in the 500D?

Hello A-b....
I don't have a 500D and I don't want to sound like a smartass but the best place to find info on your question is the instruction manual...I know, it's a man thing, "If all else fails, read the manual"...My favorite moto...Yep, I'm a guy so I know...
Here is the info you were asking about.....

The XSi/450D, XS/1000D, and T1i/500D use a rechargeable battery for the clock. It recharges itself off of the main battery. See the note at the bottom of page 29 of the T1i/500D manual. The clock battery is permanently installed and not replaceable.

John at the Beach,

Thanks a lot for the info. Yup, I know what you mean.

it's also a man-thing to say, "To h--l with the manual, I can do this!".
