Default White balance and EOS 300D

Hi, can anyone tell, how do I set the correct white balance? Is there any special white paper for that purpose? Which camera settings must I have doing that?

This is just like which black is black? Unless you have a calibrated color meter...

IMO I would use the blank paper from the printer you would use to print your picture out... and here again Kodak, Epson, and Canon whites are all different!

To manually set the white balance on the camera you find a white object, set your exposure, switch to manual focus (no flash), fill the whole screen with the white and take a picture. Then, go to the menu and find the WB setting. It will ask for the picture and start reviewing the shots on your card. Choose the white picture you took adn click set. Then, choose the manual WB setting with the controls on the back and the dial. I think you can only use WB settings while in creative modes and not in the preset modes.

I don't think I left out a step.
Hope this helps.
