Default Arrival of 1d Mark IV

16mp, 10fps, 50-100k ISO,

ABSOLUTELY new 45 point AF with 39 point cross type f2.8 af points.

Looks good in paper.

Cost - to put it into perspective, u can get an 1ds MKIII for the same price hehehhehe

Good luck guys....I am changing my gears exactly by 2012...hehehhe

Or a Leica M9

Which is 18Mp FF, about 2 fps, 160-2500 ISO.

ABSOLUTELY zero AF points. :P

I know which one I'd rather have.

Have you watched the Canon videos on their website?

It has some very impressive features. Really clever. I particularly like the setting where you can have the camera set to use one AF point for horizontal orientation and another for vertical and it will automatically switch when you turn the camera. Genius!

Re the M9...
I know, I know - I should get one. Or at least go and play with one in the shops for a few minutes - or possibly rent one for a weekend. I may decide I don't want it after all.

i dont believe that. After using the M9...i doubt it

The AF looks a bit complex...in the mean time i am enjoying my M3 and have decided to use it till it rusts,......so thats like just another 200K.....

here i am assuming you have to register the AF points in relation. I would like to see an enhancement where if you selected the top AF point in horizontal orientation, when you tilt the camera 90* the left most point in the vertical oritentation should be selected. More like trying to retain the focus at the same point.(Automatically)

I was hoping to see some feature as part of the 1d serieis which i feel are missing.....enhanced auto iso where you can let the camera choose the ISO irrespective of the value. I understand the logic behind restricting AUTO iso betwen 100-800. But there should be an option to retain certain params while the ISO adjusts to say even the 100K.

overall the 16mp should give some room for cropping and detail. I hope the detail matches the original 5D atleast.

You are in good company: lots of forum traffic/discussion, but according to data collected, less than 1% of the market end up buying a 'pro' body:

http://bcnranking.jp/news/0812/081228_12821.html

-> The D700 may hold the most market share in this category (even though lots of talks on D3's) because of the price tag

No Wonder i see more D700 in the used market.

I think this 1d Mark IV is to just get people focus on mark III and its tarnished image off and move on. With 1d Mark IV out, i do expect to see the mark III selling for 2k-2.4k in the used market or even less.

Hope to see Nikon thrash this 1d Mark IV with a D4 for canon users to wait for the mark V and the competetion goes on so i can affort a mark IV for 1500 usd hehe

It is interesting to note though that the dSLR market share is fought primarily at the low-end where Canon still have a commanding lead with the Kiss/Rebel...

-> Where Canon tend to lose out is the mid-range 40/50D against the Nikon D300/D90 and the various Sony entries and why they have to be successful with the 7D:
