It won't affect image quality at all.

The best way to clean it is quickly and gently.

Your bathroom mirror is a rear surface mirror, which means that the silvering is on the back of the pane of glass, so the glass protects the silvering. The mirror in a dSLR is a front surface mirror; the silvering is on the front of the pane of glass, and there's nothing protecting it. The best way to clean the mirror is with something clean, wet and absorbant. Something like a lens cleaning cloth dampened with a little distilled water. And the longer you wait the more damage will be done to the silvering. In fact, what you see may not be a fingerprint, but the damage already caused to the silvering by the oils and acids in human skin.

You can try cleaning it, but it may already be too late.
