Default Canon Rebel T1i Head to Head with Nikon D5000

The Canon comes out with more detail, obviously higher resolution, and 'punchier' color, but the Nikon has better noise levels and controls they say. Users seem to disagree by the number of votes.

I just got my T1I, it was a great camera. I was considering the D5000. The image quality differences comes down to splitting hairs decision as both take great pictures. And it comes down to what your preference is on a shot. But remember the major reviews out there ended up compairing the T1I to the D90 allot of time. But the T1I is price to compete in the same level as the D5000, that does tell you something about the T1I.

For me it came down to the bigger screen, and the hight ISO for my choice of the T1I.

Sorry about that.

I think the AF motor is a BIG advantage for the T1i - mabe the "game-changer"

I agree. Not having the built-in AF motor limits the lens choice considerably, especially for third party lenses.
