Default It looks like the market has turned around for camera's makers

"Canon, the world’s biggest camera maker, rose 2.2 percent to 3,695 yen after saying yesterday net income will probably jump 52 percent this year. Sales are expected to rise 7.5 percent in the period, the company said.":

-> That article also mentioned Sony:
"Sony, a Japanese maker of consumer electronics, jumped 5.8 percent to 3,110 yen. The company may report an operating profit of 100 billion yen in the three months ended December, the first profit in five quarters, Nikkei said."

Well the down economy makes digital photography an attractive hobby actually. Except for the price of the camera, the hobby itself is pretty cost neutral. Also people love the web and love up loading photos. A good point and shoot is not that big of an investment compare to other items out there.
