Default Canon 40D and T1i accessories?

I am attempting to get a wireless set up of Pocketwizards or similar.
I have a 40D which I know has a flash-out slot, is this a PC out connection, or what is the proper term for this.
I was looking at my T1i and it seems to only have a slender female slot above the video out, any ideas what it is?

More to the point, I apologize for my lack of terminology as to what is exactly what.
Bottom line, I am looking for a wireless option that will work with both in addition to my ST-E2 and possibly a 580EX.
Is there a clear cut solution I am over looking here?
Much THANKS

There are only 3 plug for on the T1i,

The remote shutter release cable plug
a/v out for component cable/USB port
hdmi for HDTV

If you have a st-e2 and a 580ex II you should be all set for wireless flash.

I also have a couple of White-lightnings (u1800 and U600) I bought and am seeking for a easy way of working them into the possibilities .
Any ideas?
I did not want to be tied to only my 40D,(as I am sure it has a Flash out) but am really willing to learn any configuration and opinions on directions......

The 40D has a round 3 pin plug to release the shutter, that would be where you would plug in the pocket wizard cable. If your other flashes are able of being of wireless slave, the the st-e2 should be able to control them.

The pocket wizard may be the way to go if the others are not wireless capable. I have never used them.

With the pocket wizard you can get a shuttle release cable that fits the 40D shutter released plug which has 3 pin. I attach a link with a picture of the 40D cable release plug. Think you just need to get the correct plug for the pocket wizard.

This shutter release on the T1i, would this be where I would apply a wireless wizard of some sort?
to trigger other flashes?

I would think that would be where you plug the pocket wizard to trigger the camera. Think there is something from pocket wizard that fits on the hot shoe that will trigger the other flash. There is actually a youtube video from pocket wizard about the set up. If you do a quick search on youtube you will see the videos form pocket wizards.

Sorry I can not help more, I do not use the system.
