Default Anyone using the 2,2GB IBM Microdrive?

Hi guys,

Anyone using the IBM 2,2 Microdrive with the 300D?

There's a really sweet deal here locally, but the store was reporting compatibility issues and are not sure if it's fixable by the firmware update...

Any input?

Cheers,
Maqueo

I don't beleive IBM made a 2.2 microdrive.If the ones
you are looking at are magicstore or something like
that, stay away. They are junk which is why they are
so cheap.I had to return 3 of them and finally got my
mony back.
Just my personal experience, maybe others have had luck
with them, but I have heard of many others having problems
with them as well.Your mileage may vary.my usage was in a
10D and none of the three worked in my friend's Oly E-1
either.

the 2.2 is not a IBM or Hitachi product. read before you jump. they are a product out of China and the nearest support for returns/service is in Taiwan. they are prone to overheat and shutdown when stressed too.

IBM sold their entire HD manufacturing business to Hitachi last year. IBM is out of the HD manufacturing business.
