Default Remote control preferences?

I could use a remote control of some sort. I like the idea of a wireless so I can be in the picture too, but I like the idea of a wired unit so I can trip the shutter from behind the camera without introducing any shake.

What's your preference, wired or wireless? And...

I see two brands available for both wired and wireless - Canon and Zeikos - any difference in performance for the big difference in price?

Thanks all!

Jim

Which canon are you have? It really does not matter about the brand. They all work fine. The IR remotes and cable releases.

I have the T2i. After much contemplation I realized that to get the performance I wanted I had to conceed on the portability issue and go DSLR.

Cool, it uses the same remotes as the t1i the RC8 and rs60es. You can find the no name remote and release cable on ebay. Both will cost you about 10 dollars total with shipping form ebay.

I goof, I posted the IR for the 450D that works with the 500D the RC 5

The canon rc-6 is the one you need for the 550D

But form some other sites, they say the rc5 will work with the T2i for photo. The RC-6 works for video and photo.

Thanks for the info, Shoturtle! I was going to order an RC5 equivalent for not much money, but I'll grab the RC6 now.
