Ha-ha! Ausser dem Schnürlregen hob'n di Soizbuaga oba ahh nix Gscheids - nur a Canon mit 5% Aufschlag drauf....

If this was a Canon with adjustable LCD - you would have shown the backside of the camera and not the front. It's easy to change some figures in Photoshop - but we all had a good laugh!!

And I think you managed to throw some people off their balance in doing this......

BTW - your flower-shots are great, DD!! How do you find the 550D does in low-light / High ISO with noise?

I still cannot belive they managed to squeeze 18Mb into the same size sensor - and get away with it....!?

...

I must say, this shows quite a big difference, most of the reflections are gone! A very convincing example that polarizing filter indeed are in place. I must look into this more. Thanks DonalDuc.

Last month I ordered 4 CPLs (58mm - 77mm) from 4 different dealers in China, each between €4 and €5 (incl. shipping), delivery 10-14 days.

No visible differences to "expensive" filters - but somebody can imagine differences :-)
"A more expensive filter MUUUUUUST be better!" (The brother of my cousins aunt said it!)

Some years ago I made my own SPDIF optical cables - € 1 per meter ... SAME quality like cables with 1 meter for €80 ... tested millions and millions of bits/bytes back/forward (PC<--->DAT).... NO failure, NOT ONE!

Default I am quite impressed by the sharpness of this Canon kit-lens!

Tell me DonalDuc - is this the same 18-55mm kitlens that also comes with the 500D?

Is this the exact name of it: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS ?

Are we talking about this lense here? --> http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos/18...report--review

I would just like to know, because this thread here and Makus'es thread... http://forums.steves-digicams.com/cl...ring-here.html with some impressive macro-shots with his Canon 55-250mm (also a kit-lens) are making me wonder if I should turn my head towards Canon for a closer look.

The 50D for example has had a price-drop from NOK 7.995,- (equals $ 1.415,-) to NOK 4.995,- (equals $ 885,-) in Norway lately!! What is the reason for this?

Until now I have been more of a Nikon-man (well, actually a Panasonic LUMIX G1-man, to be precise, but I am also looking for an additional APS-C camera for different shootings to my G1) because there are Nikons in my family.

As time goes on, and I read more and more reports and test's I get more and more confused of what I really want......

Best regards from the cold North!

Yes, it is the same lens. Some people say "it's a bad lens" - but for some buckazoids more (€ 70) then body only it is a good buy.

It is my FIRST (hihi) Canon lens - I have a lot of Sigmas, Tokinas, Tamrons - half the price of Canons and good quality.

550D is a very good camera - but G1/GH1 I like more (eviewer, tiltable display). My first DSLR was a Canon 10D (body only € 1850) - my brother likes his Nikon D700 :-)
