Default Canon Rebel XT upgrade to what?

Hi,
I am thinking of upgrading, what is my next step? I am still an amateur, but take sports shots indoors, basketball mostly(my kids). I have a Rebel XT, which I am happy with. Sometimes I don;t think the ISO max 1600 is enough. I have a Canon 28-135mm IS, 50mm, and 85mm canon, also a cheap o 75-300mm for outdoor long distance. I see on ebay used Xsi for around $500,,,,is it worth the upgrade? I guess my question is stay with the compact flash memory, small display, or upgrade? I only want to take pictures, not video like some off htese do...what is my next step? Looking to buy something used, seem like alot out there?

Would like all your input. thanks

With the XSi you are not getting high iso, as XSi is limited to 1600iso also. The imager is a bit better then the XT. So if you are not happy with the image quality then upgrade.

Image quality is as good as i can get, I think, does the better processors make a difference, for the amateur,,,all my stuff is payed for, so i figure is selling my XT,,,,and adding another $300 really going to make a difference?
I do like my XT,,,but is it getting to be a dinosaur? Working with computer all my life, my close vision at 53 yrs old is shot, so the display LED i can't see very well anyway, I use the view finder, and then load on computer, the SD memory would be more convenient, but not a killer.

If you are upgrading I would not go with the XSi, you are really not getting much. You may want to move up to T1i 1 lens kit. All your lenses will transfer over to the T1i. the 85, 50 and 28-135 are good lenses.

That was the other option I was thinking, they seem to be going for $600 on ebay, would it be a noticeable image upgrade from the XT??....I really only do 4 x 6 prints,,,,8 x 10....stuff for the family. I enjoy it as a hobby, so trying to thing if saving up my pennies for the upgrade if it is really worth it.??

It will be a bit better, but you can shoot at 3200 without issue, and 6400 with some noise. And if you need it can shoot at 12800 but you should run it through a noise reduction if you go that high. But like the XSi at 1600iso it will be a bit better then the XT.

But if you get one on ebay, I would look at adorama ebay store for a referb. You get a 1 year warranty with them. All other referb comes with only 90 days warranty. I do not buy used bodies. I know what I put my T1i through.

If you are considering $600 on ebay for the T1i be sure to check out B&H they have it for $619.95 (body only) and free shipping.
