Default 1.3, 1,6 and FF comparison...

Had nothing else better to do today so I took some comparison shots of my Canon 15mm Fisheye and Sigma 12-24mm on my 20D, 1D MK II and 1Ds MK II. The tripod was setup and left it in the same place for both lenses. The brick wall is about +/-10'-0" away. Only editing I did was a little levels, curves and sharpening.

Sigma 12-24mm (I only compared the wide end, 12mm)

It's very interesting. I never really noticed much of a difference between my 20D and 1D MK II. I rarely shot them side by side though. What a diffrence when comparing the photos side by side! Didn't realized I was getting so much more with the 1.3 crop. 1Ds MK II is just WILDLY WIDE! I love it! Hopefully Sigma can calibrate the lens so the upper left corner isn't so soft. I want to keep this lens

Canon 15mm Fisheye

This is also very interesting. I lose almost all of the fisheye effect on my 20D. The 1D MK II shows much more fisheye effect. The 1Ds MK II has crazy fisheye I'm sure I'll have lots more fun with the firsheye on my 1Ds MK II than with the 1D MK II

Thanks for looking guys!

You do realize that the distance at the corner is much closer to the camera than the distance to the center right?
-> Focus closer or use the hyperfocal then the corners will improve

IMO the Sigma controls its distortion pretty well... for such a WA

Yes, I know The upper left corner for some reason is always much softer than the rest

If the lens has a decentering problem the EX can always be sent back to Sigma for adjustmrent, up to 5 years after purchase...

The longest in the industry!
->. There is no other rectilinear lens quite like it
