Canon offered a 35mm slr with a pellicle mirror back in the 80's, I think it was. Not a huge success. It was fast with the motor drive, but the light loss was too much for serious work.

They offer them in the 90's also. It was good for outdoor action, as it has a 10fps with the drive motor. But you did loose the 1/3 light. eos 1n rs was their high end, and the eos RT was built off the 630 body.
