Default automatic lighting optimizer

I'm having a problem with the automatic lighting optimizer on my new canon t2i. It won't turn on. I read in the manual that you need to turn it to one of the semi-auto modes (Tv, Av, P, M, etc) in order to access it but even though I do that I can't get it to change from Disabled. Is there something else that I inadvertently set that prohibits someone from activating?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,
Probably you have enabled Highlight Tone Priority in Custom Function (C.FnII:Image 6).

Go to menu settings Custom Function and disable Highlight Tone Priority then you can use Auto Lighting Optimizer....

Hope that solves....
