Good choice, the 24-105L is my main lens on my 40D, though the wife main lens is the 17-55 IS on her T1i. So you can see we have the 17-55 or 24-105 talk a lot at home. We think both lenses are great and are glad we bought them both.

Excellent choice ... 24-105mm lens stays on my camera almost permanently ... if I had to choose only one lens, then it would have to be 24-105 (until Canon releases 24-70 f/2.8 in IS version).

I did have to use my kit lens for wider views, but that accounted for 12 out of 1200 shots that day (and it wasn't truly wide enough either).

The focus accuracy and speed are much appreciated, and while f4 isn't the fastest out there, the constant f4 was quite helpful.

I'll ramble on later when I have more time.
I've also just bought a 24-105L for my 7D crop body, and am definitely in love with it. Focus accuracy and sharpness are great.
