Default cracked display on t2i

Unfortunately while on a trip the rear display on my Canon T2i was cracked. Has anyone had any experience in having this replaced? If so what was the cost?

Thanks

On another forum, I have seen several posts that the glass you see is actually just a protector and that it can be replaced easily, they say it can even be done at home (that would scare me). I would call Canon and see, it may not be that much. Steven

I got lucky, I sent mine T1i for a warranty repair, and they replace the scratch lcd free of charge.

I wasn't as lucky. Repair cost was $231.
