Get a better lens and you will have much crisper photos with the XS.

Canon's own 17-85 lens would be an upgrade over the kit lens and the 18-135 would give you more range(if not more quality).The 17-55 f/2.8 is a very nice lens,with good optical quality,though it's pretty expensive..!

Hi IMHO if you looking at a lens then the 15-85 is the better bet or even look at at the sigma 17-70.

Actually,yes Wave01... I forgot about that one- the 15-85 is a nice lens at a reasonable price..
