Default Newbie here...Sorry

What does HSM mean in the description of a Canon Lens? And Does anyone have some sort of a list of Canon Lens that are Vibration Reduction(former Nikon user). I was looking on websites and could not tell if the lens had this or not. Thanks for your help!

None of the Canon lenses are HSM. The fast and silent focus motor in
Canon lenses is USM (Ultrasonic motor).

The equivalent fast/silent motor in Sigma lenses is HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor).
All of the other manufacturers have their own brand name for this technology.

As with the focus motors, each brand has their own name for
image stabilisation. VR in the case of Nikon, IS for Canon.....
