Default 10D goes wide...!

Finally got around to manipulating my 18-55 ef-s IS lens for my trusty old 10D... and I think it looks kinda sweet on it...! Wide angle at last...!

Pete- because the 10D has an EF mount, not EF-S...
Some delicate re-working of the rear plastics enable the lens to mount, and to avoid the mirror clacking the lens..!!

Thanks..! When I think back to how awful(and I mean awful..!)the commonly attached 28-80mm lens was, when attached to a 10D... it was criminal...!!
I remember the first 10D I bought- and being hugely disappointed with it- not realising just how poor the 28-80 was...!!! I'm glad I bought another 10D and stuck this lens on it....
I now see just how good a camera this is..!
This is now my "in the mountains" landscape camera...
It's kinda funny to compare this "old" and "humble" 6mp camera with my 12mp SX40hs and my 14mp SX210is.... guess which captures the most detail...!

may I ask...

Just how did you delicately re-work the rear plastics?? Would you recommend this modification?

Hi Holly- all of what is required is described in the link.
Some hacksaw the plastic rim straight off(not what I'd recommend as plastic filings will pile in to the lens mechanism...!).
I would definitely recommend this modification- if you require a decent, inexpensive, image stabilised wide angle lens for a 10D- though probably best left for the more technically minded- used to handling tools and with a delicate touch...
