Default There is also $20 rebate on these things on top of it

I picked up two of these cards. There is a $20.00 rebate on them. Lets face it, at $79.00 a card, you can't beat that, even at most online stores.

All right, now that you all have those cards I want to hear some performance reviews, especially with the 300D.

Default Office Max

I went by an hour ago & picked up the $99.00, 512mb, 12X Lexar card & rebate form...nice deal. However, they already have their new flyer out that starts tomorrow & this price will only be good until closing today.

I went by Office Max this afternoon and picked up one of those. It's a Lexar 512 MB 12X. $99, can't really beat that. Paid $70-something for a 256 MB last fall at WalMart while on vacation.

By the way, gave my Digital Rebel it's first real test this past week. My son's girlfriend is a very good high school gymnast and took some shots of a couple of her meets. Turned out great considering no flash was allowed, high school gym lighting, and VERY fast action. I got some very nice shots, mainly when she was in a slower or stopped action part in her routines. Used the trusty, and fast, 50mm f 1.8 lens that I've had since my 35mm Rebel days. I was very pleasantly surprsed by the results.

The Office Max near me only had 256MB CF for $79 ($99-$20 rebate), no 512s.

That sale ended Saturday night...I did see another one for 512mb cards for $89.00 but it costs more up front.

Default Real world experience...

I took my new 12X, 512mb Lexar card on a photo shoot over the weekend. I must say, it sucked big time! I spent more time waiting for the buffer to read to the card than I ever have experienced before (I may send the damn thing back to Lexar). I finally got so annoyed that I put my 1Gig Microdrive back in the camera & didn't have any more delays.
