Canon's company website has sales from time to time. I am sure there will be one coming pretty soon.

The 18-135 is sharper, but has more vignetting, distortion and chromatic aberration than the 28-135. Adorama has the refurbished 28-135 for $320, which is a significant savings.

Adorama's refurbished Canon lenses come with a 90 warranty. Plus, for another $10 you can get a 1 year warranty, or for another $30 you can get a 2 year warranty.

They're entirely unnecessary in my opinion, because if it works when you get it, and you take good care of it, there's no reason to suspect that it might fail.

... EVER.
