5 days. That's not fare. I have to wait 4 or 5 more weeks for it to be released in Canada.

I hope your wife enjoys it. How long will it be before you say " Honey, when do I get to play with your camera"

The 70D showed up about a hour ago, haven't seen my wife as she seems to be hidden behind camera boxes, manuals and a big black thing in front of her face. Think she pretty happy right now.

Does anyone know if the 580 EX flash is compatible with the 70D (NOT the 580 EX II)

Can't help you there, we have the 580EXII and it does work great with the 70D.

I just bought the 70D and I'm very impressed. Huge difference from my T2i. Very very fast and loaded with features. It's going to take awhile to get used to all the differences but I'm up for the challenge.

I will be happy as a lark if my spouse buys me a new camera.

The problem with buying my wife a new camera is now she is looking at what new software we need and any other, can't live without gear.
