Default Removing dust from Digital Rebel's focusing screen

Hello:

I have been using my new Canon Digital Rebel for about 4 months now. It has good features and a few bad - that I knew about before buying it. Anyway, after changing lenses about 100 times I noticed some contamination on the focusing screen. I have had no luck getting the little specs off of this plastic device. Canon says take it to a repair center. I say, it needs cleaned with a small, soft vacuum probe. Has anyone figured out how to clean this screen without damaging it?

Thanks..

Are you referring to the sensor or the viewing screen?

If sensor, go to http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning for some information.

I think he is referring to dust in/on the viewfinder. So either the dust particles sit on the pentamirror or on the actual matte of the focus screen.

Hello again:

I am referring to the plastic focusing screen between the penta-mirror and the mirror. I hope that the dust is outside(below) the screen.

Thanks,
