Download the official 1.1.1 Firmware from the Canon website and keep it handy to throw onto a compact flash card to upload to the camera in case of repair or service work under warranty. However if the camera gets to a point where it wont power up or read cflash youll be S.O.L.

Hi,

I found the hack and downloaded it. When I try to extract the contents I get an error ( unidentified ). What software do you use?

It's probably in rar format, do a search for winrar if you're using windows, download the demo version and install it. That's what I did.

Don't know what you use if you're using a mac.
