Just a quick note to reccommend the BG E1 Grip for the 300D/Rebel to any of you guys with big hands.... I always thought that the camera felt a little bit too small compared to my old EOS 50 but now it has more weight and feels great to hold. It also gains a little more respect from the casual bystander.......!:-)

I am happy

Yup-

Also gives you more power for checking the histogram. By the way it DOES work with just one battery inserted (left compartment).

I only wish my eyes were good enough to check the histogram in full sunlight... LOL

I definately enjoy having the grip on my Rebel. With two batteries installed, I never worry about running low on power (but I have a spare JUST in case )

Where did any of you purchase your BG-E1 grips and what did you pay for them? I understand there is even a slot on the grip to store the battery door on the camera. Did any of you have trouble removing the battery door?

WJL100-

I paid $124.00 - Yes the "regular" door comes off and fits into a slot in the Grip.

You might have to fiddle a little bit with the door DO NOT FORCE IT.

The real beauty is the ability to turn it for vertical shots and your key controls are right there to use.

It does function with only one battery in the compartment.

Does this indicate:

1) I'm dumb

2) I'm rich

3) I was in a hurry

4) I am fiercely loyalto a local dealer

5) My neighbor was talking about getting one

6) Everybody on the block was laughing causeI didn't have one

7) I found $124.00 on the street and had to get rid of it cause I thought it belonged to a drug dealer and I didn't want to get caught

8) I'm Very old and wanted one before I die

Wow guys they are some seriously cheap prices... consider yourselves lucky living in the US. My local retailer quoted me 259 Euro which roughly equates to 320 dollars....! I ended up buying it from the UK for around 200 Euro when converted from sterling....! You guys got it for about one third of what i paid...! We are being so ripped off over here in Ireland at the minute. Can any of you guys reccommend a reputable dealer (online if possible) that is willing to post to Ireland and not charge me crazy money for shipping......?

Still I am happy with it... but noit as happy as before you guys started posting how much you paid for yours!
