well I just purchased the slr canon 300D. My 15 year old son was horrified that his mum would spend so much money on such a small thing:-). Im unpacking and charging battery and reading manual right now. I do hope this was a good choice. Thanks to anyone who helped me take the leap.:-)

Oh and I got a 90-300 lens chucked in for half price with it, should be fun:-)

Is it the camera also known as Digital Rebel, sorry if i sound thick but i don't know much about these cameras yet. :-)

The Digital Rebel has three names; depending on where you are located. In North America, it is the EOS Digital Rebel; in Japan, it is the EOS Kiss Digital; in the rest of the world, it is the EOS 300D Digital.

Since I do NOT like the moniker of the Names Canon places on Cameras - my DRebel is the 300D. It sounds better. I mean, can you imagine saying you own a Kiss Digital? Canon needs New people to dump these kids names & go with numbers. Sorry if this sounds childish, but it really bugs me . . . .

At least Nikon uses D70, Olympus uses E-1, etc.
