I'll just be glad to see something, anything, finally OFICIALLY announced so we can go maybe a couple of days without any more of these "what's going to be announced" messages, speculations, rumors, etc, etc. on at least the Canon board. Nothing I've seen, including this post or the attached URL above, means ANYTHING until Canon finally announces it, be it the 20D, 10D mark II, 3000D, 3D (have I missed any?).

Next I am bracing for all those who are constantly checking the Canon website and will all rush to post the first announcement once the real news is out. I imagine we'll have 8-10 messages all posted within 5 minutes of the time Canon's website is updated.

I think you just missed the 7d and of course the 3 bazillionD. I probably like rumor threads more than the next guy, but lately it seems a bit much. the only thing that i am convinced about is that the successor for the 10d will be worth having.:-)

To me, that is not nearly enough new spec to make me upgrade from the 10d...I will still be drooling over and saving for the 1d mkII!!!!

Oh, and who needs IS on a wide angle lens????? :?

I've heard rumours from other sources that the IS lens will be 17-85mm. I guess we'll wait and see...

"The development project was called "EOS (Electro Optical System)." The "EOS" is also the name of the goddess of dawn in Greek mythology, even more apropos for the new-generation SLR camera."

No definition for EF (electronic) vs FL/FD (mechanical) series lenses however: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/h...991/densi.html
