I know its cheap, but i've read only good reviews about the VivitarSeries 1 19-35AF. Is it any good? I would be using it on a 20D.

I have owned that exact lens inPentax Kmount in the manual focus version. It was OK. That's about it. Vivitar Series 1 lenses are not the same quality of the Series 1 lenses of 10-20 years ago. I personally think you'd be better off with the18-55 EFS, either a cheapersecond hand original or the new one with the micro USM for virtually the same price as the Vivitar.

I have to agree. Vivitar used to have a decent name for 3rd party lenses. Unfortunately the build quality is not even up to a Quantary build quality.
