Hi all...was wondering if I could use the collective experience of the readers of this forum and ask what readers believe to be a fair price for a 300D Digital Rebel, both used and new, with and without lens?

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I've gotten the following quotes:

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"$719 for a refurb camera, includes all retail kit accessories (battery, charger, software, manuals, cables), no lens

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"$899 for same as above, but NEW

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"These quotes came from an internet retailer, and additional warranty for 3 years can be purchased for either camera at $99. Is that a good price?

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I'd love to hear buying experiences from you folks, and thanks in advance for the replies!

Canon is about to run a rebate on the camera. Up to $300 off if purchased with two other qualifying products. If just the camera is purchased its $100. The rebate offer will begin October 15.

I wouldn't purchase from Abe's of Maine, but they have the link to the Rebate coupon up already.

jta - thanks for pointing to me at Abes. With the $100 rebate from Canon, that's a pretty good offer. Mind if I ask why you wouldn't order from Abe's?

I'll usually buy from B&H, KEH, Adorama, or Thompson Photo (a local store). So I don't have any experience buying from Abe's.

Since the rebate is a Canon rebate, it will be good for products purchased through an authorized Canon Reseller, not just Abe's.

Where were you guys with that rebate info when I was ordering my DRebel...

BTW, I ordered through DigitalFotoClub, link is here:

http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/pr...p?id=964588988

760 for body only andonly 823 for the 18-55 kit! I didn't order the lens kit since I already have 18-125 sigma lens... Ordered on Sunday, UPS says will be delivered next Monday. We'll see if everything ships as expected.

I read on a Pro Photographer'swebsite posted NOT to buy cameras from any dealer in Brooklyn - better known as Crooklyn.

I have used B&H since about 1981 & have NEVER had ANY problems whatsoever with them at all.

It's true, for most of them, but not all of them. These guys got some really good reviews on pricegrabber and resellerratings. And I shopped million times in the internet stores only after reviewing their ratings. So far I was lucky, no crooks...

I'll let you know when my order ships if everything is all right with it.

P.S.: BHPHOTO is good, I used them a couple of times as well. Excellent service, fast delivery, friendly customer service. Prices are not the best on the market though...

I thought B&H was in Manhattan, not Brooklyn. I know Adorama is there and I've ordered from both and have been to Adorama, and I've gotten excellent service at both places everytime. When I need something, I look at those two places first.

ulik - did you get your dRebel from digitalfotoclub.com yet? I just ordered mine from there and I'm expecting to get it later next week. Thanks for your link pointing to their website. I'd like to hear if you got what you expected from them....

I'll post more about my experiences with them also, in case anyone wants to order from them.

Cheers.
