I just purchased the new 20D, and am selling my Rebel & kit lens on Ebay. Someone has emailed me asking how many shots the camera has taken.

The file numberingwas at around 4800 on one CF card in October 2004, but at 6600 on another card a month earlier. (if that makes any sense).I remember that when I first started using the camera, I just popped in the CF card that I had been using on my G3, and the file numbering system just kept on going from there, andI never paid any attention to it.

ugh, I've done the same thing with the 20D, and it it at the file number 4,800 now, although I've shot less than 100 photos, I'm sure.

Is there somewhere in the Rebel's menu system that will tell me exactly how many shots it has taken? I think it'swell into the thousands (I do equestrian event photography), but is there any way to find out?

I apologize ahead of time if this is a dumb question.

What number do you want it to be? :-) :-) :-)

-> Renumber the last shot and put the card back into the camera!
