Hello!

I don't have experience withsync cordflashes.I wanted to shoota flashby sync cordfrom my EOS 20D. Is this connector standard, or do I have to connect a compatible flash with my EOS 20D?

Thank you in advance

I would bet there is only one sync cord and it works across all their flashes and cameras. I don't know that for a fact, but if you researched the sync cords sold in places like www.bhphoto.com, I bet you'll find the same one works for many canon cameras.

You did not specify what kind of flash, something like a manual studio strobe type that would connect to the cameras pc connector. Or a fully automated flash like one of Canons flashes.

For the automated one you need canons flash extension cord, it slides into the cameras hotshoe and the flash slides into the connector on the remote end. These remote cords are not cheap.

For the manual strobe, the camera side of the sync cord is the pretty standard pc connector.

On the flash side there are several types(mini jack (like a mono speaker), 1/4 inch banana (like a guitar cord), two pronged (almost like a house extension cord))

So in this case you need to find the sync cord that matchesthe strobe you want to try to use.

Thank you for your kind explanations.

That is all that needed to know. I'll use it with a simple external flash, working in manual.

Themanufacturer has also answered me, and it has confirmed methat it works fine.

It's a pleasureto have your high valuable help.

Thanks.
