Come back in about 2 years. That seems to be about the cycle time for each model level. Next up should be a drebel replacement in the next year.

They are not going to kill their new 20d by replaceing it with a new model targeted at the same level before enough sales are made.

i have heard rumors that canon is working on a new digicam to fill the gap between the 20d and the 1dmkII.. something akin to what the eos 3 did for film.. it seems a bit absurd since that gap doesn't seem big enough to fill, but who knows, afterall it is just rumor..

There is nothing inherently wrong with the 20D. If you trust where you buy from then I'd do it.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of ebay. I'm sure that costs me money but it also saved me some trouble.

Let me see. I'd like a 30D to have:

- 12 meg sensor

- ISO 6400 (lets dream a little)

- Flash sync to 1/1000th of a second (now I'm really dreaming).

- Actually lighter and smaller than the 20D (don't wake me up, this is too good to be true!)
