I've got a ocnsistent focus erorr on every lens on my new 20D body.

Definite need for quality control !

The 10-22 EF-S lens also need to be replaced because the AF switch didn't work, where the 24-70 2.8L and 70-200 2.8 L were both OK.
But it's really annoying to spend so much and find there isa problem .

I will be having words :Pwith Canon, as it's the Autosport motor show this weekend and I need equipment that works - right now.

NOTE: because the ruler is at 45 degrees, the focus error and DoF are not as you read off the ruler!

Here's s directly measurable photo, looks like 5mm focus error (short).

From the previous photo it was about 4.9 so head-on is close enough!

Finally, the stupidly simple tool I used to check it !

Ruler, post-it note and the DVD drive tray to hold it in front of the triopd

And if you're wondering how it's in focus, I used MANUAL focus

Hello SmartWombat,

I have not used any tools to check my 20D focus yet, but will be trying soon! I would be very interested in the feedback from Canon, given the investment in this equipment.

Regards, Baggy
