Is this all that Canon had to announce at PMA??? 4 - point & shoots, the Rebel XT & 1 EF-S lens. Hmmmm. No follow-up to the S-1 IS or Pro 1?

Well considering that The Pro1 didnt sell too well due to the matching price of the rebel, and the price difference ( But similar feature-set ), of the lower G series, not much point in announcing a Pro-1 replacement at this time, perhaps closer towards xmas, especially since the Release of the XT being estimated 999$ , the rebel body will fall below the price of any new Pro1.

Far as the S1 IS, alot of mixed feelings there and such, one thing to keep in mind is both the S1 IS and Pro1 were first of their kinds introducing lens technology from what would normally be in Canon's SLR len's market, and I'd imagine its a trial run that they need to evaluate further, then probally come out with something by xmas of this year.

I think right now Canon already knows the A series sells well for under 500$ , then will want to try to push the DSLR market above that price range, and the G series been around long enough to make a reputation so thats probally not going anywhere.
