Is the stabilization worth it? What lens length is it necessary? Pretty sure I'll go with the new Rebel XT and now need to pick a couple of lenses. Any advice is appreciated.

handheld it is a definate plus.

this is only 30% of the original image. note the backround as i tracked the 3 girls. i can crop the center girls left foot to read the shoe style on the tongue. IS works pretty good.

1Ds 70-200 2.8L w/1.4 extender handheld iso 200

do not use on a tripod as it can/will reduce the image sharpness due to it trying to sense the movement.
