Version 1.1.0 is what mine is on now. I just got it back from Canon; to get it cleaned and adjusted. It had a dead pixel on the LCD and they replaced that. But I swear it said 1.1.1 before i sent it there. Maybe I'm losing it.

Yous probably said 1.0.1 - 1.1.0 is the latest they have produced.

It wasn't 1.0.1, cause firmware version was the first thing I checked when I bought it and mine was 1.1.0 or better.

Mine is 1.0.5 and was bought in November. How can I update it and what exactly does this change in my camera?

Can get firmware update here http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...10464#firmware

Update instructions are included in site, not following instructions exactly, includingthe instruction to remove thelensfrom the camera when flashing the bios can toast the camera. You also need a cf card large enough to upload the bios too, and use either the external camera power supply that plugs in to a wall outlet or a fully charged battery. Running low on power during the bios flash update is a bad thing.

This firmware update from 1.0.5 to 1.1.0is minimal, adds 3 additional menu languages and fixes a unusual flash banding problem at very high ISO.

That said I updated mine from 1.0.4 to 1.1.0 and it went smoothly.

I did that and it worked fine! Yay! I was nervous but I followed the directions and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
