I bought the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro Super II F 4-5.6 on a recomendation from NHL and like this lens.Would I like an IS (since I shake like a 100 yr old man)?Yes but this lens is real nice for the price. Here are a few of my pics taken with this lens. Also mine is used on a 20D,but cant see why this wouldnt fit a 350.

Hi,

The Red ring is the newer model. That is the one you want. The older model has a Gold Ring or NO ring. Those are the ones NOT to get as they would have to be rechipped to work. I have the NON APO model and it works as well as the APO model for me. I also have the 28-70mm 2.8-4 Sigma.

Not all Sigma lenses can be rechipped as some are too old. Have fun and enjoy your lens and camera.

How good is this lens in taking hand-held shots at long end 300mm

Hi, I just bought the Quantaray 2x AF Teleconverter, along with a*Quantaray AF 70-300mm (4-5.6) Lens with Tele-Macro 1:2. Is this the same one as you have? I think it is made by Sigma. I didn't see any red ring on it though. I sure like it so far. The autofocus sucks on full zoom but after practicing I really have the manual focus down instead.I bought it at Ritz Camera for 159.00 and the converter for $79.00 so I don't think it was a bad deal. I have 10 days (9 Days left) to return or trade it.*Your pictures here seem great to me. I know I sure am getting a kick out of taking pictures from so far away! Oh, I'm using it on my Digital Rebel too.Too many explosions here tonight for me!!
