If the IR remote in the XT uses the RC-1 controler it is of very limited use. It only works from directly in front of the camera and has a range of 10-15 feet depending on conditions. I got one free with my old eos 10S and ended up throwing it out, it rarely worked right. IMHO: it was given out as a gimic item to help sales.

thatsanicepicture2 has it right :-) the Canon LC-4 is 409$ at Bhphotovideo it has a range of 100 meters/ 300 feet http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...=164268&is=USA

There is also one by pocketwizard but I think it is even more expensive.

For the wired switches, there is the RS-80n3 basically a push-button on the end of a wire and the TC-80N3, switch with smarts in it :-). Either can use the ET-1000N3 33 foot/10 meter extension cord.

Peter.

Adidt also has a wireless remote for the 20D:

I have no idea what the quality of this maufacturers products are, however on the POTN forum a few have mentioned that they use them. I've also only seen them for sale on eBay ... so maybe they are not FCC approved.

Thanks I see the item from Ebay very good (in price and manuability) because the others for 450.00 or 500.00 you need to use the hot shoe.

thanks to all
