I posted comparison shots on
http://www.leicaphoto.net/Download/C...ica/index.html
The RAW files can be downloaded

If you want to see and download more Leica DMR RAW files, you can view/download them (approx. 20 MG each) from

What a beautiful looking camera. B&H has the R9 film body (manual focus) for $2495 and $3595 is you want it with a 35-70mm f4. With the digital back this camera is going to be quite expensive, but I would imagine that the performance will be quite impressive.

I wonder if Canon or Nikon are looking at doing the same thing?

IMO it's quite a cool concept... switch between film and digital at will

Also once one is familiar with the camera, only the back needs to change if a better digital 'emulsion' come along at a later date - no need to change the entire camera

-> Only a minor issue though - no CF flash???

Did you notice that the image from the Leica looks pretty poor in comparison to the 20D that is 1/3 the price? I would have thought that for a camera/back combo that would cost so much that the images would be outstanding.

Maybe Leica should partner with Canon to get a better sensor

Well,

I now have a DMR as well and have taken a different approach to reviewing it. I have started a Diary type review and have posted some sample photos here:

http://www.dslrexchange.com/forums/s...ead.php?p=1066

I will post some pictures on this iste in a few minutes.
