Do you guys have any suggestions for some lenses for a beginner that wont break my bank? Im looking into get a nice 50mm lens, and a pretty decent zoom one for a Rebel XT. The kind of shots Im want to get into are a lot of night shots of skylines and daylight scenic shots, and for the zoom lens I want to be able to do a lot of sports/driving shooting, and just nature shots of animals and such, any suggestions are welcome

This lens seems to be pretty good, has a lot of great reviews, the price is around $300 which is a bit steep but I dont wanna go cheap on lenses...

go with the 50mm 1.8 II cannon lens,it is around $80 and from what I heard a really great lens.As for a bigger lens the only 1 I have is the Sigma 70-300 APO Super Macro II which is a really good lens and goes for around $220.

There are alot of good people on here that have greater experience with these lenses and will give you some good advice.
